Understanding Florida's Sexual Battery Laws
Sexual battery is defined and explained in Chapter 794 of the 2015 Florida Statutes. Synonymous with rape, sexual battery involves forcing an individual to engage in sexual intercourse against their will whether through actual force or by targeting an individual who is incapable of giving consent. Although this always a serious charge, it is especially serious when charged in conjunction with domestic abuse.
If you have been accused of sexual battery in Orlando, is important to remember there is a difference between a criminal charge and a conviction. At Mazin Law, we can work with you to protect your legal rights and create a sound defense strategy. There are several defenses that can be asserted in such cases. For example, it could be argued that the victim consented, that you did not intimately touch the victim, or that it is a case of misidentification. We encourage you to discuss your situation with our law firm.

I had the pleasure of hiring Mazin Law for a situation I was going through. Attorney Taylor and Lyle brought me into their family (so to speak) and represented my case until it was dismissed. The care and compassion they showed to their occupation and my case, was second to none. The firm was always available to answer any questions or concerns that I had during this process. They kept me updated with any changes that occurred regarding my case, up till the moment I could breathe a sign of relief, when my case officially was dismissed.
